This guide describes how to install Norton Internet Security in Windows 8.1 OS. Firstly, download Norton Internet Security from official site
For further steps, please remember how to run “Control Panel” in Windows 8.1. Right click the “Windows icon” and click “Control Panel” as shown.
Now, when the Norton Internet Security Setup file have downloaded, please Right Click on it and select “Properties”
Switch to “Digital Signatures” tab, select “Symantec Corporation” and press “Details” button.
On “General” tab have to be shown “Digital Signature Information” – “This digital signature is OK.” It means, that the Norton Internet Security Setup file is checked by SHA1 sum algorithm. Close both windows.
Now, when we have returned to Windows Explorer, Right Click again to select “Run as administrator” in a context menu.
User Account Control application will inform us about of making changing to our computer, shows us that the Norton Internet Security made by verified publisher “Symantec Corporation”, so press “Yes” button.
Please read the Norton License Agreement, after that please press “Right Arrow” icon to the right from “Agree & Install” title.
Norton Internet Security Setup will inform us about installing progress.
When the Norton Internet Security installation will be completed, press “Right Arrow” icon to the right of “Explore” title.
Now, Norton Internet Security Setup program will ask you about 4 main things most useful during the Norton Internet Security using, press “Continue” button for it.
“Green square” shows us about CPU usage for System and Norton Internet Security, and Secure Trust Level percentage.
This step allow to Manage Norton software installation on other computers.
Thirdly, free Norton support for registered users is very important when you meet with PC security threats.
At fourth step, we will know about the Norton Internet Security additional features to get more protection for your PC or notebook. Press “Finish” button.
To complete the Norton Internet Security activation, please enter your e-mail address, press “Next” button.
To become as registered user with Norton account, pleas fill the next form, then press “Next” button.
Now, we have finished the Norton Internet Security activation process, click “Close” link as shown.
Norton Internet Security Control Panel will show your computer as signed in as yourlogin@youremail.com, so click “Close” button.
To complete adjusting of the Norton Internet Security installation settings, please Right Click on Windows Icon, select “Shutdown” menu and “Restart” submenu.
Now, after Restart, Right click again the Window Icon to run Control Panel.
To check the Norton
Internet Security is working, please:
1. Select “Control
Panel” – “System and Security” – “Action Center”
2. Expand “Security”
listing if it is hidden
3. Check “Virus
protection” is in “On” and “Spyware and unwanted software protection is in “On””
also, and the “Norton Internet Security is turned on.” is shown with an each
task.
To Pin to Taskbar the Norton Internet Security program, please select it from context menu for program’s icon on a Desktop.

By selecting from a
context menu of Window Icon or simply by pressing “CTRL+Alt+Delete” key combinations,
Task Manager could be opened. Please switch it to the “Details” view to check,
that the Norton Internet security works in your Windows 8.1 OS.
If you do not want to
use Norton Internet Security in Windows 8.1 OS, please:
1. Run “Control Panel”
– “Programs” – “Programs and Features”
2. Select “Norton
Internet Security” program title.
3. Press “Uninstall/Change”
button
To completely remove all the Norton Products, click to “Please remove all user data”
Norton Uninstall utility will ask you about keeping “Norton Identity Safe” program, if you need to uninstall this program also, please click “No, thanks” link, as shown.
Norton Uninstall utility informs about remaining days of your Norton Internet Security subscription. To confirm uninstallation, press “Right Arrow” to the right of “Next” title.
Norton Uninstall utility will start executing, showing uninstalling percentage progress.
To complete uninstallation process, you need to restart your computer. Press “Restart Now”.
After restarting,
please check changed preferences:
1. Select “Control
Panel” – “System and Security” – “Action Center”
2. Expand “Security”
listing if it is hidden
3. Check “Virus
protection” is in “On” and “Spyware and unwanted software protection is in “On””
